About us

Europe.org - The Collaborative European Travel Guide Project

Since its creation in 2002, Europe.org has rapidly grown into one of the largest European travel reference websites on the Internet. The content of Europe.org is free, and is written collaboratively by people from all around Europe and the world. This website is based on wikis' principles, which means that anyone with access to an Internet-connected computer can add, edit, correct, or improve information throughout the guide, simply by clicking the add and/or edit link found on most pages. On Europe.org, you are welcome to add cities, regions, monuments, businesses, reviews and photos yourself.

Because Europe.org is an ongoing project, new collaborative features are added on a regular basis. It also differs from a paper-based travel source in some very important ways: it is completely up-to-date, articles and reviews are created or updated every day, rather than months or years for printed travel guides. Europe.org is a registered trademark of the European Tourist Office (TM) (E.T.O.), the independent tourist office with representations in Europe and the United States. E.T.O.'s mission is to promote European travel destinations as well as to assist travelers in the planning of their European visits and trips. We provide travel guides on key-destinations that help consumers' research their travel plans via the web. The E.T.O. is not a travel agent/tour operator, does not charge any service fees to users of this site, and is not responsible for content on external web sites.

Specifically, our on-line mission is to provide a travel guide to Europe where one can find extremely accurate and pertinent information to prepare for the most enjoyable travel experience at the best price in a minimum amount of time.

We do not have any ties with any European Union Institutions but maintain close links with major National Tourist Offices (NTOs).
