Former Town Hall - 2200 Herentals Belgium

This building, made of Ledian brickwork, was originally a cloth makers hall where cloths were gathered for inspection and trading. It became the Town Hall in 1430. It was erected in the 15th century and rebuilt in sandstone in 1534. It is an example of Brabant Gothic architecture. Today, it is a venue for cultural activities.

It has a 35 metre high octagonal belfry, made of red bricks and built in 1590, containing a carillon with 50 bells. It was recognised as a world heritage site by the UNESCO in 1999.
