The best part: We had a lovely hotel (Cestelli) with wonderful owners who gave us terrific suggestions on where to eat.
Walking through the city taking in the atmosphere and sitting on the Ponte Vecchio listening to live music at night.
The worst part: Didn't have a bad experience.
The best attraction: Seeing the David at the Academia , the leather market, and the city's atmosphere.
The worst attraction: We got a bit lost walking through the Boboli and Barbini gardens.
The best restaurant: Cambi and Pizzaiuolo |

The best part: Going shopping and visiting the statue of David.
Great Summer night festivals and street performances.

| Jul 13, 2006 | "Enjoyed it." Review by a visitor from UK who visited the city in June 2006 as a single leisure traveller.
The best part: Watching World Cup outdoors on the big screens in a few of the Piazza's
Uffizzi Museum was world class and something I would loved to have been able to spend more time at. St. Croce Chiesa
The worst part: Crowds/heat but this this to be expected druing high season. Graffitti in Italy is so out of control that it's really sad to see. Florence does not have as big of a problem as Milan but it appears to be growing with no attempts to control it. Stop this before it ruins your city like it has Milan
You need to get more lower cost flights directly into Florence's airport. Air France and Ilitalia seem to have a stranglehold on your airport. You need to try and find a way to get some of the lower cost carriers into the flow to bring overall costs down.
The best attraction: Uffizzi Museum and St. Croce Chiesa
The best restaurant: Gelatti di Neri - Not really a restaurant but definately the best Gelato around. |

The best part: Our hotel, Villa Sull Arno, was very nice, great location, and sold bus passes, which was very easy to hop on and off. You could walk downtown as well. Great resturants across the river from us, and at hotel as well! Even had same day laundry, and made reservations for us in Venice. Very service oriented staff.

| Jun 08, 2006 | "It's not my favorite city in Italy." Review by a visitor from Boston, MA USA who visited the city in May 2006 as a single leisure traveller.
The best part: The fact that all the museums were free on June 2.
The worst part: The fact that everything is under renovation or conservation and this is never disclosed before an entry fee is paid. It's not fair to ask tourists to pay full price to see something that is half-hidden by scaffolds. |

The best part: Visiting the museum of Sciences, climbing on the dome of Santa-maria del Fiore, eating Italian ice creams, meeting Italian people ...admiring Italian women (for my husband ), speaking Italian...
The worst part: Paying 8 euros per person to cross the Boboli gardens ! It's a shame ! It's not possible to sit in a garden in Florence without to pay ! and the prices for visits are really too expensive for families !
The best attraction: The architecture of Santa Maria del Fiore and Santa Croce
The worst attraction: trying to queue for the Museum of Academy to see the David !
The best restaurant: 3 Leoni
The best cafe: Rivoire |

| May 09, 2006 | "We enjoyed the city but it was unpleasantly crowded." Review by a visitor from australia who visited the city in April 2006 as a couple without children.
The best part: It is a beautiful city and the people were generally helpful (especially our hotel host).
Having booked to go to the Uffizi and the Academy made a huge difference and I appreciated that neither gallery was unpleasantly crowded.
The worst part: The crowds and particularly the tour groups walking behind the leader (with an umbrella in the air). The tour groups blocked roads and pavements. On the Saturday the crowds were so bad, that we could not cross the Ponte vecchio. We couldn't get in to the Duomo because it was too crowded.
The taxi from the station to the Piazza Sibgnoria was very expensive.
The best attraction: The city itself.
The worst attraction: The crowds. |

| May 09, 2006 | "Excellent" Review by a visitor from Iowa City, IA, USA who visited the city in April 2006 as a couple without children.
The best part: Our visits to the art galleries were very well organized, especially given the crowds. I visited Florence last 35 years ago. It is muchmore crowded but the authorities have done a good job making it easy to see all of the attractions, while minimizing the impact of the crowds.
The worst part: Crowding.
The best attraction: Still the Uffizi. |

The best part: sightseeing the city itself and (from high spots to enjoy the landscape), unexpectedly, food which was actually pretty good : simple and healthy.
The worst part: crowd from 10 am to 7 pm everywhere, queuing for hours for the smallest museum, and entrance fees at museums.
The best attraction: San Miniato al Monte
The worst attraction: Medicis Chapel (kind of ugly)
The best restaurant: Cinghialo bianco
The worst restaurant: none that we tried |

| | Stayed at the Hotel La Scaletta Great location (very important to avoid loss of time), great terrace (I spent there 4 hours in 4 days), watching the Boboli gardens (bird songs), the churchs of Florence (bell sounds), sunbathing... Clean and decent rooms, no fancy-and-ugly furniture, no view from the window neither, but quiet and comfortable.
